When considering the characters of a good friend, there are always a variety of points of views to be analyzed. Some people think that a good friend should be reliable. However, others tend to believe that honesty is the most important character.
As far as I am concerned, I think reliability, honesty and intelligence are of great importance characteristics of a good friend.
Firstly, a friendship base on the reliability and honesty will remain and last long. For instance, no matter when I would like to reveal my secrets, I will always turn to my best friends because I know they will comfort me and never betray me. On the other hand, this relationship goes both ways. My friends like to chat with me when they get into troubles and need somebody’s advice. I am so proud that I have a friendship of 10 years, and I believe it will last forever.
The second characteristic is intelligence. Undoubtedly, an intelligent friend could offer you some useful suggestions and practice advice when you are in doubt. For example, I like going shopping, but I always buy something unnecessary. John will always remind me that “you have already had one at your home, you should not buy it”. So, thanks to John, I could avoid excessive consumption when I am going shopping.
In brief, maybe there is an argument to be made for other answers as well. Nevertheless, from the experience I have presented, I think reliability, honesty and intelligence are very importance for a friendship.
