A complete consideration of people’s opinions about traveling is difficult to present because they are so varies.
Some people say that it is acceptable to travel many different places for a short period. However, others prefer traveling to a single place for a longer period of time.
There is a comparison of these two points of view as follows.
Firstly, let’s look at the advantages of traveling to many places for a short period of time. I think the main advantage is that it is a quite convenient way for many busy office workers who just have limited time to travel. For example, both my parents are very busy, and seldom do they spend time traveling. Last year, they joined a European tour, and visit many European countries within 15 days.
They thought it was worth traveling to many different places in the short time because it helped energize their body and mind.
Now, let’s shift our focus to the advantage of traveling to a single place. You have more time experience the local customs and learn special culture with longer stay in one place.
John and I spent two months in Japan last year. We lived with a local family, the Sakura’s, they were nice and friendly. With their company, we visited a lot of local places which we hadn’t heard before, such as ancient temples, local museum, and hot springs. Besides, we learnt a lot of Japanese slang which we couldn’t find in the textbooks.
In brief, generally speaking, I am in favor of traveling to a single place because you could have more time experience the local culture and learn more from the local people.
