"The level of dietary carbohydrate is also very important; higher consumption of simple sugars, refined grains, white bread and their food resources is related to the incidence of breast cancer through the mechanisms of blood sugar and insulin level increase and stimulation of insulin-like growth hormone secretion. Also, high-protein diet has similar effect on the stimulation of insulin-like growth hormone secretion which ultimately results in breast cancer through the stimulation of cell proliferation and the inhibition of apoptosis. This is also seen in artificially fed infants who are deprived of breast milk and have to be fed with high protein milk powder."
