First, let’s look at the advantages of knowing exactly what they want to major in. One of the important advantages is that people can start the subjects very early. People attend to university with their goal and dreams. I believe most of them have been considering the majors they should study for a long period before going to university. Thus, they really know what they should do and can get used to the major immediately.
Now, let's look at the advantages of making up their minds afet two years classes. Some majors look interesting, but when it comes to complicated courses and countless professional examinations, it may not be that attractive.
According to a latest study that nearly 67.21 percent of China’s university students say they are dissatisfied with the majors they are studying now. I think spending two years to consider whether the major they choose before is suitable for them is of great importance. College life plays a significant role in one’s life. It might be a tragedy if people have to waste four years on the major they don’t like. Therefore, making up your mind after the first two years is absolutely necessary.
Personally speaking, I favor the latter position over the former because its advantages are qualitatively greater. Of course, I don’t mean to suggest that my opinion is unassailable. Nevertheless, I feel confident that the reasons I have provided in support of my point of view are stronger.
