Proofreading?

Hi Teachers, Please help correct my article if there are any grammatical mistakes. Thank you very much!

My college is planning to invite a famous person to give a speech at the next Prize Day and asking students to offer some suggestions.
Personally speaking, I think our college should invite Nick Vujicic to be the guest speaker that day. Nick Vujicic who has serious inherent disease, was born without any arms or legs. When he was a kid, students in his school laughed at him for he looked like a monster. He attempted to end his troubles by suicide for several times, but he failed. However, it was these failures made him know what the most important thing was in his life. He loved his family and he didn’t want to disappoint them.
He finally graduated from university with two bachelor degrees and became an excellent motivational speaker who traveled around the world to give speech encouraging people in different countries.
The current generation of children always complains about their parents, their study and the society. Never do they realize that they are luckier than most people in the world. They don’t need to fight against hunger and poverty in our country; they can not imagine there are still hundreds of children struggle to eat a meal every day. When they are wasting money on buying luxuries, they don’t know how many children in rural district can not go to school because the tuition fee is not affordable for their families.
As far as I’m concerned, most students in our college may approve of my choice, because they need positive power. Nick Vujicic is just that person who can motivate us and encourage us to be a better one.
