Proofreading?

Hi Teachers, please help correct my article if there are any grammatical mistakes! Thank you!

Last week was Chinese Lunar New Year which is also known as The Spring Festival. My friend John and I spent holiday in Japan where we had visited many times before.

Our friends said goodbye to us at Shanghai airport and asked us to send them postcards. We had a three-hour flight before arriving at Tayama airport.

As soon as we arrived at a holiday hotel, we couldn’t wait to change our clothes and take bath in hot spring. Chinese people like taking bath in hot spring, because they believe that the mineral element and herbal medicine in the hot water are of great benefit to human.

Before I came to Japan, one of my cousins who lives in Japan said the monkeys from the nearby mountains will also take bath in hot spring in the winter. Maybe they are too shy; I couldn’t find any of them before I left the hot spring.

A hotel staff told us that there will be an annual temple fair tonight. Girls in Japan will dress kimono when they are attending to famous events. So, I rented kimono with cherry pattern from the traditional clothing store and the owner of the store helped me dress up the kimono. I was so excited when I looked at myself in the mirror.

John and I walked around the street where lanterns were hung everywhere, and we found there were various traditional Japanese snacks in food stands. I ate a lot of delicious foods until I couldn’t anything more.
What impressed me most was firework show; I sat in the stone stairs with John and admired how beautiful it was.

People enjoyed it with pleasure; they were singing and dancing in the center of square. It was a wonderful night and an unforgettable experience I had in Japan
