Last Friday, the famous NBA star Jack Lee paid a visit on our school, everybody was so excited and looking forward to his arrival. During his visit, Lee was invited to coach some basketball teams of our school in the afternoon; his modest teaching attitude made all the team players expressed admiration for him.

What impressed me most was the speech he made for us in the students’ hall, he told the story of his early life as a basketball player, although he didn’t mention a lot about the training in NBA, I can imagine how much he had done for being an outstanding basketball, there is much truth in the saying 'one minute brilliant performance on the stage is attributed to ten years’ practice under the stage'. Then he said honesty is of great importance not only in our study but also in society; nevertheless, sport is not an exception, athletes should be honest in competitions.

Many people in China think sport is only a type of entertainment, but from his point of view, sport is a bridge between cultures; for instance, the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games demonstrated China’s national strength to the world and it played a crucial role in international politics and economy relations between other countries.
We learnt a lot from Jack Lee and his speech really gave us motivation to know more about sport.
