Both Ice cream and sorbet are popular frozen dessert, but there is something different between them.
Ice cream is mixed with daily products, fruit and sweeteners; it has to be stirred slowly during procedure. In contrast, instead of using milk and fat, sweetened water which is flavored with fruit and wine, is the main ingredients of sorbet. Sorbet can be served not only as a sweet but also as a way to cleanse the palate before the main course.
Arabs were first added daily products and sugar to ice cream, and it soon caught a growing number of people among Arab world’s cities, however, the recipe of ice cream differs from city to city.
The origins of sorbet are hard to be proved; some people said it was Roman emperor who invented sorbet. While others argued that China is the home of ice cream, Marco Polo took recipe back to Italy and it had been widespread in other European counties since then.
