Proofreading

To my understanding proofreading is one of the following:

A. All writers should do

B. You don't need to do if you are a good writer

C. Only inexperienced writers need to do

D. You can only do for yourself

I feel that A is the correct answer. I feel that no matter how good you are , there is that chance that there might be a mistake made.

Emotion: big smile

Please advise if this is correct and if not , please explain.

A. [Should read] All writers should do it. C and D need the 'it', too-- (though both would still be incorrect answers).

From the way all the choices are phrased, I think the exercise was probably 'complete the following sentence':

Proof-reading is something that .....

in which case the 'it' changes would not be necessary.
