Hi, teachers, please help me correct my article if there are any mistakes. Thank you.

With the development of modern science and technology, some aspects of traditional culture are being lost, and some people now believe that traditional cultures will eventually be replaced by modern science and technology such as computers and the Internet. What is your opinion?

It’s been said that modern science and technology make several aspects of traditional culture to be lost. However, as far as I am concerned, I disagree with this view for two basic reasons.

Firstly, instead of having traditional culture goes away, modern technology contributes a lot to make it become stronger. As one of the four ancient civilizations, China is a country rich in history and culture. With the help of modern science, we can record many nearly lost forms of culture so that they are able to continue to pass along from one generation to the next. I still remember that when I was very young, I was forced to study erhu, a traditional musical instrument. I didn’t like it at first, but what my tutor told me changed my mind. It was a story of a famous erhu artist who died in poverty and disease during the war against Japan. The tutor said that we may not enjoy the great performance produced by this artist without the help of tape recorder in that difficult time. I think if we can make good use of modern technology, we can do better in reserving as well as inheriting our essential culture.

Secondly, there is increasingly number of factories now use automatic machines during the production process for the sake of the development of industry. Modernization of production leads to increased output that means cheaper price, which makes people more likely to afford the products. Qipao, is a good example for it. Qipao is a typical symbol of Chinese women’s dress, which is usually very expensive; not everyone could afford it. Nevertheless most people can enjoy the pleasure of wearing this kind of traditional dress with modern technology. Additionally, there are only very few people who have mastered the skill of making Qipao, and the pool of these professional technicians is shrinking. However, the modern technology can keep this skill alive and give people more opportunities to contact with traditional culture.

In conclusion, I think modern technology is advantageous for the inheritance of traditional culture.
