I believe that schools and universities should offer adequate lectures and courses free of charge so that individuals, even those from impoverished families, can have the opportunity to gain tertiary diplomas. This will also help a country economically.
To start with, free education can significantly increase the literacy rate of a nation. If everyone can be enrolled in an education institution, even those from poverty-stricken areas, this will contribute of increasing in high qualified citizens. Take Sweden as an example. Swedish universities and schools provide free education, resulting in 99% literacy rate. This also causes a reduction in crime rate as according to statistics uneducated people are prone to commit a crime more compared to educated people.
Additionally, free education systems assist nations to improve their economy. Not only more people become qualified and educated, but also help every talent from far reached corner of a country to be established and flourished. Moreover, this opportunity will attract other high skilled people from overseas which can boost the tourism industry and the economy as a result. This is the reality that currently is happening in Western countries like Sweden in which post-graduate courses is not only free of charge but also universities offer scholarships for calibre candidates.
In conclusion, according to what had been analysed, it is beneficial if educational institutions offer free courses. This lead to have more skilled and well-qualified citizens and can grow the country’s economy. It is recommended that this strategy will be followed by nations the world over.
