Children are living in a world which is changed to what it was a few decades back due to development in technology. The excessive use of technology decreases communication and family collectiveness. Also, it causes health problems among the young generation including social anxiety, isolation, difficulty in adapting and depression just naming a few. Hence, it causes not only problems in the family but also negatively affect society.

Children are more prone to be affected with the advent of modern technology including television, video games, cell phones and the internet. Parents find it easier to keep their young ones busy with these gadgets which require their minimal participation. Children tend to watch TV, use internet or play games by sitting and watching which in turn affects negatively on their health. They suffer from eye problems and obesity. A research conducted in the university of Surrey concluded that two-third of children are suffering from obesity in US only. Hence, more screen time, low physical activity and less communication among family members create more complexities during childhood.

In today's modern world, the young generation is living more in virtual reality instead of the real world. They can talk to a person living a thousand miles away, make hundreds of friends on facebook but they do not want to socialize while going out. The technology makes their underdeveloped minds more vulnerable to damage. Which, cause them to be socially isolated, less adaptable and depressed later in their lives. For example, a few months ago, an adult killed around 50 people in someplace in New Zealand while showing it through live streaming. Psychologist, later on, revealed that the person was inspired by violent video games and was mentally depressed. Therefore, Modern technology not only affects children individually but also its effects ripple through society.

In conclusion, the more technology is used, the more it affects adversely. It causes the communication gap between families and makes children more technology-dependent. Which in turn, causes complexities among families and communities.
