Qualities I Look For In A Mate
Is it possible that my Mrs. Right, my soul mate, is out in the world somewhere for me to find, or perhaps for her to find me? Okay, maybe there isn't a Mrs. Right or a soul mate out there for me but I think we all like to dream that there is someone out there. Someone who has the qualities you look for in that special person. Of course the list can be unrealistically long, but I will share just a few with you. I want my mate to be someone who is a respectful, kind, and trustworthy person.
One of the most important qualities for me in a woman is that she is respectful. Respectful not only to others but to herself as well. Respect is a quality that is very important in the life we live today. If a person is not able to give respect to others be it at work, within family, or even just to a stranger in passing one has to ask what kind of world would we be living in? Also showing others that you respect yourself by being confident and always staying true to yourself will tell others that you can respect them as well.
A person can be kind in so many ways. You could give to the needy, volunteer at shelters, or you can be kind by even doing something as simple as holding the door for the person coming in behind you at the store. Words can also be a way to express kindness. Such as, Saying "Thank you" or complimenting someone. There is something in being kind that is contagious. Like a domino effect it works its way from one person to other spreading it's positive vibe which causes people everywhere to be happy and most importantly to smile. A woman that is truly kind is a must.
Finding someone who is trustworthy is possibly one the hardest of them all. Especially being that trust isn't something that is just built overnight. As the days and months turn into years you could firmly believe that you trust someone blindly, but then unexpectedly the trust you had for this person is tainted for whichever the reason. Then, you find yourself asking why? Also, now making it that much more difficult to trust the next person or the one after. Although it may seem closer to improbable than probable I do long for my mate to be that person I can grow to one day trust blindly.
I try to envision my mate with all the qualities I long for her to have and as I close my eyes just a little bit tighter I realize that although it may take a lot of failed attempts and maybe a few tears in my lifetime. I do believe that I will one day find that one person I can call my lady. The one person we all dream to have. Someone I can share old memories with and create new ones along the way. A partner who is a respectful, kind, and trustworthy person.
