can you check my cover letter for Erasmus Mundus program!
i'll appriciate all feedbacks!Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing to apply for the Erasmus Mundus MS Course in Mathematical Modelling in Engineering, which was advertised on the web-site of European Commission - www.eacea.ec.europa.eu. I would like to continue my studies in the area of Mathematical Modelling in the universities of Europe in order to get education of high quality standarts, reach my carreer goals and build an academic and business network.
I have recently graduated from Samara State Aerospace University, which is rated as one of the best Engineering Universities in Russia, where I have received a Specialist's degree in Transport Engineering. Throughout five years degree program, my academic records were always excellent and I constantly ranked in top 5% of the students of my class. The emphasis of my studies was understanding of the principles of Logistics and Transport Management. But I also learned other diverse topics, like Economics, Computer Science, Physics and Mathematics. I found the last course really interesting and challenging, as I studied different aspects of Mathematics (Mathematical Analysis, Linear Algebra, Differential Equations, Probability Theory and Statistics, etc.)
My Specialist's thesis project "Statistical analysis of time length of operations in the airport" was connected with Mathematical Modelling. I did it in collaboration with Kurumoch International Airport. In my thesis I developed a working model of the airport and described its work with length of different airport operations. Using airport statistics, I created diagrams characterizing the length of these operations and compared them to theoretical alfa, beta and Gausse distributions. They helped me to find optimal length of different airport operations and propose some solutions to reduce expenses and make the work of the airport more beneficial.
All my university life I was an active participant of extra-curricular activities. I was a class representative and a tutor; I attended supplementary French and German language courses and took part in student exchange programs abroad. After I joined the international student organization AIESEC, I took up the post of Vice-President of Exchange program for one year. It helped me to polish my leadership skills, become a successful team player, learn to work under strict deadlines and adapt to international environment.
My afore-mentioned education and experience has provided me with insights to technical aspects of Engineering and Mathematics, as well as the ability to learn and work hard. Now I am eager to continue my studies and complete MS Course in MathMods, offered by Erasmus Mundus program. I want to experience European educational system and benefit from it. Therefore I wish to follow Master's Degree with PhD and concentrate on theory and research. European universities are famous for their centuries-old traditions, perfect combination of theory and practice, distinguishing research facilities and vast career opportunities. Besides that, it is really important for me to become a Russian ambassador in Europe, in order to present Russian culture there. Thanks to everyday communication with students from all over the world, we will manage to better understand each other and to create successful business relationship in future. In several years after graduation, I see myself as a mathematical engineer within big industrial company, working on simulations of its products, seeking for their continuous improvement and optimization and bringing positive impact on our society. After I gain enough experience in this field, I am also planning to start giving courses at university to share my knowledge with students.
It would be a privilege for me to be accepted into Erasmus Mundus MS Course in Mathematical Modelling. I have determination and ambition to complete the chosen course successfully in order to reach my goals: get internationally recognized education, have a successful career and social network. Please ensure that you have spaces between your paragraphs. Otherwise it is too hard to read. My guess is that you pasted your letter into the text box. After you pasted your letter, the spaces were removed. To solve this issue, please do the following:
