This is the prompt: "In 100 words or less, please describe the most rewarding and challenging aspect of being a leader in your school and community"
This is the essay I wrote:
Leadership offers both rewards and challenges. The most rewarding element of leading is the opportunity to serve and aid others. My passion to lead stems from seeing the needs of others. After consulting with trusted advisors, leaders can verbalize the best decision for the situation. The challenges of leadership consist of responsibility placed upon leaders. Leaders have no one to hide behind and must take the blame for poor decisions. The pressures of leading are frightening and risky, however, when one has the courage to take risks and lead, others realize that a true leader has emerged.
