Religious views, such as a belief in the sanctity of life, are very influential in debates over abortion, the death penalty, and environmental protection. I think whatever religion they are following cannot affect their policy making decisions. The sets of beliefs vary across religions and all religious ideals influence how followers will act accordingly and who they will support. If a position shares the same religious background, it can help people feel more connected to them, because they can then see the value system that they believe in. If religion interferes too much into the state, there will be many issues can arise. Although an ideal government is what is totally separated from church, the government will be to some extent influenced by the opinions of follower of the most popular religion. Things will come up now and in future with public policy the will force to go with or against religion but most important thing is to balance all the ideas. It also may make people from other religions feel as though their views are not validated. The politicians need to be fair in all problems. I found the third video interesting. The Obamacare requires employers to provide their employees with health insurance plans. The coverage offered goes against some companies’ religious belief regarding abortion including drug, sterilization and contraception. This has caused many religious organizations to sue. Abortion is such a controversial topic, especially among religious believers. This is an example of where that line of church and state has been crossed for some religious based organizations.
