Essay & Composition Writing

Proof-reading

Hello everyone!

I was very pleased to find out that a community of your type existed on the internet and I as soon as I discovered your website, I immediately rushed to log in.

As you all may suppose, I would need your help and guidance into proofreading a cover letter I just composed for my application for a Cambridge scholarship.

I would be very happy if there was anyone having the time and willingness to doublecheck the letter.

Thank you in advance.

I am writing in order to express my intention to apply for a scholarship at your University and I would like to be considered for a Cambridge Commonwealth Trust and the Cambridge Overseas Trust.

I am an English language and literature graduate, who is extremely interested into the interaction of the concepts of arts and culture on the one hand, and society on the other hand and how can these shape the individual’s mind. This is why I chose to apply for the course of arts, culture and education at the University of Cambridge as I am deeply convinced that it would suit my needs for intellectual challenge and my future aspirations. My formal education is a perfect blend of learning the English language at a proficient level, as well as obtaining profound knowledge of its literature. This was organized in different classes closely related to art such as drama and poetry. What is more, some of our teachers provided guidance for preparing research papers and thus helped us acquire the elementary skills for performing in-depth research into specific topics. Consequently, I could freely say that I left my University as an independent thinker and individual possessing all the necessary skills to continue to a further level of education.

When it comes to extra-curricular activities, I recently attended a summer school organized by an NGO exploiting new media techniques as a way of influencing young people’s view of the world as it is and as it could be. Apart from the educational and recreational context, it was the perfect opportunity for myself to grow as individual and to carefully scrutinize my strengths and weaknesses. During the summer school, I spontaneously started playing the role of coordinator in my team, consistently putting into practice my patience, communication skills, ability to keep my composure and to motivate the others in times of hardship. As a result, I now feel more prepared to embark into project management and to provide all the necessary leadership to see the project through.

Finally, in support of my application, I would like to mention that I am currently attending an ECDL course in order to obtain an ECDL certificate. I hold the view that in contemporary society one has to always follow world trends and technology. Therefore, acquiring computer skills would be of great use to me, as it would lead me to a better organization and a greater efficiency of task performance.

I am confident that I possess the knowledge and social skills required to spend a year full of intellectual and personal challenges at your University. I am looking forward to your positive response.

Until then, thank you for considering my application.
