Pronunciation of the words starting with "s"

Hi

Many people in Pakistan and India pronounce the words starting with "s" this way.

[with a light "i" sound before the"s"]

Snake = /?s-ne?k/
Special = /?s-pe?l/

I want to know if it is common in some other Englishes also. Please let me know.
