Pronunciation of the word "gratis"

Hi

I believe there are at least two pronunciations of the word gratis -- the underlined part could be pronounced like rat or like in rain.

Could you please tell me how you pronounce this word?

I pronounce the "a" as in "father" (I am from southern England).
