Pronunciation of the word Copthall

I was hoping could clarify this for me.
I pronounce it "Copt-hall" whereas my colleagues call it "Cop-thall", i think the latter just doesn't sound right.
i hope i have posted this on the right forum, hope to hear from someone!
thanks!

As a City of London Guide I can verify that you are pronouncing the word correctly - it is Copt-Hall - the reason for this is that in days gone by there would have been a town house with a copper roof or copped roof, hence copt-hall. You could try researching at the Guildhall reference library online
