Pronunciation of "subject"

Hi

Would you say that the pronunciation of "SUBJECT" as a verb is different from its pronunciation as a noun?

Thanks,

Tom

The noun has the stress on the first syllable ("SUB-ject"), while the verb may have the stress on the first or second syllable ("SUB-ject" or "sub-JECT"), depending on the speaker. I usually pronounce the verb as "sub-JECT", so for me the pronunciations are different. I can't visualise anyone pronouncing the noun as "sub-JECT".
