Pronunciation of 'shone'
Hi,
How do you think most AmEng speakers pronounce 'shone' (the past tense for 'to shine')?
Something like ['shoun]?
(I have checked a few dictionaries for 'to shine' so I know there exists an alternative pronunciation ([shon]).
Unfortunately it is impossible to figure out from the dictionaries which of the alternatives is "commoner" in AmEng.)
