Pronunciation of "Rehabilitate"

Hi

In my neck of the woods, people very widely/wildly mispronounce "rehabilitate", saying the yellow part exactly the same way as in habit.

Please tell me if this word is also mispronounced by native speakers.

Thanks

I guess we've all been mispronouncing it. He's in rehab is a common expression. The first syllable is stressed: RE - hab.

It's a word I read more than I say or hear, but I usually hear the stress this way.

Mirriam-Webster gives both pronunciations -- one with the "h", one without. Personally, I say the "h".

I tend to swallow the h as a British speaker. I agree with the stress on bil.
