Pronunciation of "R" in British English

Hello!

I apologise in advance for any mistakes in my English Emotion: smile

I would like to ask about the correct pronunciation of words like "remembeRed", "coveRed", "registeRed" in British English, with emphasis on the letter "R"; On the one hand, I learned that the letter "R" is NOT silent in British English when followed by a vowel (as in "grey", "general"), but on the other hand, according to my dictionary it looks like the "R" in the metioned verbs IS silent, even though it followed by vowel ("e").

Could anyone please clarify this issue for me?

Thanks a lot for your help Emotion: smile

Hi In southern UK English (which I best know), no, you wouldn't hear the 'r' in the verb ending '-ered'. Further up north you might hear it though Dave
