Hi That's a good question - and others here may be able to shed more light on it than I can 'Fifteen' - and all the 'teen' numbers - are some of the fairly rare words in English that have stress shift. The stress may fall on the first syllable or the second, depending on context and how the emphasis falls in the sentence as a whole. I suspect it may also depend on country, class and accent too.
