Speech & Pronunciation

Pronunciation in words 'love', 'come', 'above', etc.

Hi!

Just want to ask how to pronounce these words:

'love' - pronunciation in dictionaries is [LAV]

But Americans pronounce 'O"

Not cAm but cOm (come)

Not Above but abOve (above)

Not lAv but lOv Emotion: love

How to pronounce them properly?

Hi I don't know if this is too late or unhelpful at all, but I do know that the correct pronunciation of the English word "love" is presented in dictionaries with the "^" mark, which is more like an inverted "V" than a caret. However, this is not to be confused with the letter "A" as it seems that many have done. It is a symbol of pronunciation as the "U" in "bus" or "up", not a long "U" such as i
