Pronunciation

Hi,

Is there a web site tells people how to say people's names correctly, their last names too. My teacher's name is Laura and for some reason I just couldn't say it like a native speaker, and I have practiced it several times, it still seems not right. I wonder if it is because I stressed it wrong but she doesn't know how to explain it. It is frustrating. Probably happens to other names too; they just didn't confide to me.

Thanks,

Ryan

I would have to hear you to help you correct your pronunciation. " Sounds for "l" and "r" are often difficult for people learning a language, and the vowel sounds may vary from region to region. Additionally, there are quite a few vowel sounds in English.

  • I'm not shocked you are struggling with it, but the other people should be more understanding and patient.
