Pronounication of "asked that"

How does this sound like? I am wondering especailly the transition from the "ed" to the "th". Is there a slight separation between "asked" and "that"?

Thanks!

Certainly no separation. For me, they smudge together. The 'd', which is actually /t/, almost disappears.

Is "fifth floor" smudging too? Thanks btw!

asked + that > askt + that > ask'that

t + th > th

d + th > th

Is "fifth floor" smudging too? Thanks btw!-- These two words seem to me to maintain their integrity, because they both carry stress (as do most number+ unit combinations).

One last thing: How about "missed you"? Is it "miss-chyou"?

I hear a hint of the /t/ in my own, but I can well imagine that others elide it. I hope you understand that these reductions, elisions, etc. are often idiolectic.

fifth = fith or fift

f + th > f + t (fifth > fift)

f + th > p + th (diphthong > dipthong, diphtheria > diptheria, naphtha > naptha)

fricative + fricative > stop + fricative or fricative + stop
