Hi guys,
I'm struggling whenever I want to pronounce the words 'berths' or 'births'. The singular form is not a problem, but it gets hard when the words are in plural.
Is there a way how to easily pronounce these words without hissing like a snake?
Thank you.
I would personally keep the tongue slightly lower in the mouth and further back from the teeth, opening up the vowel slightly. It also allows the tongue to come upwards and forwards at the end to form a 'ths' sound quite quickly, reducing the likelihood of hissing too much.

I'm a native English speaker in the US, and I cannot recall ever in my life saying these two plurals - or even the singulars, for that matter (these words would rarely, if ever, come up in ordinary speech, unless you worked on a cruise ship or in a maternity ward). So I wouldn't worry about this.
