Pronounciation

How do you pronouce the name Gannett as in Benjamin and Deborah Sampson Gannett of Civil War times? Is is G as in Grace or G as in George?

Top answer

I'm not familiar with the name, but I don't know of a case where a G before A would be pronounced as in "George" (except "margarine"), so I think I can confidently predict that the G in Gannett is pronounced as in grace . CJ
