pronoun question

"It is a testament to how far we've come in building a strong and resilient relationship and being able to have very candid open discussions about issues where there is disagreement without it endangering the entire range of significant matter that we are woking on together," Clinton told reporters.

what does it refer to? I think it is disagreement.. Am I right?

On the contrary, it seems to me to be talking about agreement...or agreeing to disagree.

Oh. Yes. Why? Because pronouns refer to the nearest reasonable noun of the appropriate number and gender.

then you are saying 'it' is 'disagreement' which is place right before the word. Right?
Somebody keeps telling me that 'it' is 'testament', and I don't think she's right.. that's why I posted it.

She is wrong for semantic reasons, not a structural one, however. A pronoun could easily bypass the nearest noun if the meaning is clearly inappropriate.
