pronoun problems

The passage below comes from a book, The Glass Castle By Jeannette Walls.

https://books.google.co.kr/books?id=opdvCefTFngC&pg=PT12&dq=%22a+sling+and+attached+it+to+the+headboard+so+I+couldn%27t+move+it%22&hl=en&sa=X&redir_esc=y#v=onepage&q&f=false

They said it was called a skin graft. When they were finished, they wrapped my entire right side in bandages.
"Look, I'm a half-mummy," I said to one of the nurses. She smiled and put my right arm in a sling and attached ?it to the headboard so I couldn't move ?it.

I'd like to ask a question regarding the two underlined 'it'.
The first seems to refer to 'a sling'.
(Am I right?)

The second 'it' seems to be able to stand for 'a sling' but the possibility of it referring to 'her right arm' I cannot rule out.
(What do you suggest?)

Regards.

I interpret that as "attached the sling to the headboard so I couldn't move my arm."
