Pronoun for non-human objects?

What should be / could be the pronoun for the following non-human objects?

1. Ghost

2. Monkey / Chimpanzees

I would use the word things instead because it's more general.


For the part of your question about animals, using the word objects would not make sense. You could say non-human animals, animals other than humans or simply animals.
