pronoun and preposition

Hi,
I have a question on pronoun use and another question on preposition use.

1. When do you use the word 'their' to refer back to words like 'anyone', 'everyone', etc.?

When everyone is in position, check that they are in the right place against the plan.

2. Should it be 'by my self' or 'on my own'?

I will keep these safe for you.
No. I will keep them myself.

Thank you. Are these OK too? When do you later-reference words like 'everyone' or 'anyone' with the word 'them' or 'they' or 'their' and not 'he or she'??

When everyone is in position, check that they are (he/she is??) in the right place against according to the plan.

I will keep these safe for you.
No. I will keep them myself (by myself or on my own).

Neither is correct in that sentence.

HEHE... I was hoping you would say no so I can find out why.

I remember someone on this forum told me they are interchangeable.

I did it by my self/on my own/ myself . ( I can't remember the exact example but you get the idea)
