Pronoun

First Lady Melania Trump criticised US president's ex-wife Ivana after she apparently jokingly referred to herself as first lady.

I found this line in a newspaper. My question is that the use of pronoun " she" is ok without clear referencing? To me, the pronoun " she " is ambiguous here.Am I right?
