Pronoun!

Which is correct? Do you need the pronoun "he"?

My brother is moving overseas and he is selling his house.

My brother is moving overseas and selling his house?

Top answer

Both ways are OK but the second way is much more natural. The difference is how the word AND is associated with the two things that your brother is doing. Also, I would normally say "selling his house" first, and "moving overseas" second, the opposite from what you wrote.

  • (1).
  • [My brother is selling his house] AND [he is going overseas] This is really two separate statements separated with AND.
