They have published the works of prominent authors such as J.K Rowling, Margaret Atwood, Paulo Coelho, Charles Bukowski etc.

Is the adjective 'prominent' a good choice in this case?

I am talking about the same sentence; using 'and so on' instead of 'etc' in the sentence above.
