Hey there, I've just had an issue with my editor and can't decide what to do. I wrote a prologue for the fantasy novel I'm working on now. Here it is:
The dragon looked at her and she felt that there was no time and space. She was not alone. The demons she was fighting were now disappearing in the mist of fears.
A moment passed, when she realized that it wasn't actually a dream - she was standing on the pile of ashes. And she saw the chain on the dragon's neck broken into pieces, and then she remembered everything.
But my editor says I need to delete it for good. I just thought I could rewrite or edit it. Is it true that prologues are considered a waste of time in fantasy fiction (it's my first novel in English, I previously wrote in Polish).
P.S.: The editor (whom I found on https://www.essaytoday.net/essay-editing-service/ for the fantasy novel) has an a MFA in Creative writing and she strongly recommends that I should delete the prologue.
As a prologue, it is incoherent. What is the purpose of your prologue? Why do you want a prologue?

The more critical a passage of writing is, the more time you will spend on crafting it.
