’’Prolific’’?

Hello All,

I read that ’’prolific’’ means ’’producing with great frequency or in large quantities’’.

In connection with animals, which term would you use if you wanted to imply both?

Could you, please, let me know it? Thanks!

Thank you, Clive : )

Yes, I mean species which have litters with many youngsters and have their litters shortly one after the other (with great frequency). Like rats, for example.
