progress vs improve

Which would you say? or any alternatives?

a) I am afraid I am not making much progress in English.
b) I am afraid I have not improved my English skill very much.
c) Unfortunately, my English has not improved very much.

A and C are natural; B is not. B would be better if you used the plural 'skills'. but you might keep in mind that language acquisition is not a matter of conscious improvement of a skill set; it is the slow growth of fluency within the student.
