Programme for/in which one chooses a specialization

Hello,

Could you help me with the following sentence? "(...) These are degree programmes for which candidates choose a specialization." Everything in it sounds awkward to me, especially the use of the preposition "for". Maybe "in" sounds better?

Thank you
