Hello,

Could you explain the meaning of the sentence in bold below. The paragraph explains the possibilities of having butterfly in the stomach. It could be either positive or negative. I am not sure what " producing the funny feeling of butterflies." Thank you very much.

When the body is under stress, extra cortisol begins to affect the stomach. For some people, cortisol shuts down the stomach, producing the funny feeling of butterflies. For others, cortisol sppeds up the way the stomach works, which makes these people feel sick.
