Which expressions or verbs can I use if I want to say that someone who had a traumatic event in his or her life has successfully settled it in themselves and have gone on with their life? Not just “survived” it and pressed the emotions and suffering deep enough to be able to go on, but “processed” all that and so now she or he is as free of its harmful and negative emotional-psychic consequences as possible?
Could you, please, let me know? Thanks in advance : )
