Problems with mixed tenses exercises

Put each verb in brackets into a suitable verb form. Questions 17-18. Use comma.

I don't see any mistakes there. Sometimes they mess up the exercise itself, but not this time. The answers should be evident and unequivocal.

I don't see any mistakes there. Sometimes they mess up the exercise itself, but not this time. The answers should be evident and unequivocal.

One thing, though. Number 17 has produced a little cartoon because this text editor does that with single words in parentheses sometimes. My guess is "call".
