Problems with / in

Hello, teachers. How are you? I have been thankful to you for great help all the time. Today I would like to know which preposition is better in the sentence.

"I have some problems with/in my joints." I think both are fine but I cannot find any difference between them. Could you help me out? Thank you as usual and take good care!

Hello, I'm figuring you're meaning biological joints rather than anything carpentry- or otherwise. In just about any context, I would use "with". For one thing, it is simply more natural to my native ear.

  • , but it sounds incredibly specific - too specific/unnatural.
  • "In" might be okay if you are talking about, say, surgery because there is a bullet/object/specific problem in your knee/__ joint (for example).

In just about any context, I would use "with". For one thing, it is simply more natural to my native ear. Additionally, on a technical level, a problem IN your joint could be something to do with synovial fluid, lack thereof, etc., but it sounds incredibly specific - too specific/unnatural.
