Problems with Chinese speaking children...

My students wrote the following sentences some of which i consider totally Un-English. Please give your advice whether any of all of the are of good English.

1. The sunflower is yellow colour. (which i think is correct but redundant)

Shall i suggest,

a. The sunflower is yellow in colour. or

b. The sunflower is yellow.

2. He planted many rose flowers. (again, i think this is redundant and improper to be deemed as good English)

He planted many roses. (this shall be enough)

Please leave your generous comments. Thanks.

The color of sunflower is yellow -is the most natural.
Awencea. The sunflower is yellow in colour. or
b. The sunflower is yellow.

No article is needed in A and B

Wrong, wrong and wrong, Dimsum. Native speakers seldom use the word 'colour' outside of questions, since the names of the colours are obvious: What colour is your shirt? But Is your shirt blue or navy? My new car's red. etc. And of course articles are needed: 'sunflower' is a singular countable noun.
