Problems with a sentence

Hello everybody,

It would be very kind of you to help me with the following sentence. I have to explain and describe the function of the verb "do":

Harry! I've been wanting a word- you don't mind if he's a couple of minutes late, do you, Professor Sprou?
Judging by Professor Sprout's scowl, she did mind.

(It's an excerpt: Harry Potter, the Chamber of Secrets)

Thanks a lot!!!!
