Problems or problem?

Hi.

The only slight problems with this cot were that it had no brakes.

The above is the original expression I've found in the Cambridge IELTS 5 textbook.

Shouldn't it be like the following?

The only slight problem with this cot was that it had no brakes.

Because it is one problem. (It was emphasized by only)

Top answer

Yes, but "cot" is also wrong. A cot is a small bed for a baby. It does not have brakes.

These cots have wheels to move around!

I don't know what to say. This book was published by Cambridge University Press, so there shouldn't be a mistake, but something wrong with my interpretation.

The following is the exact page.
