Problem with Verb Tense.

Hi,

"John was a handsome man. He was 6 feet tall. With his blue eyes and brown hair, John ____ like a Disney prince. "

This is a sentence from the short story I have been writing lately. The story is a third person narrative, written in simple past.

Can you please fill the above sentence for me in the right way?

Should it be "looks like" or "looked like" or "would look like"?

Hi CJ,

I'm afraid "looked like" may sound like a one-time event.

I'm describing his appearance in general.I'm not talking about how he looked during a particular event.

Is my choice of words correct?

No, it won't. "to look like (something, someone)" is a state, not an event. "looked like" will be fine.
