Letter Writing

Problem with Motivation letter

There is this company asking me to write a motivation letter, the thing is I don't know how to start it. I'm a student at PE Technikon, doing my 3rd year in Management. The expirience that i have was to help my father in his shop when his not there.

I wanna apply for a master degree in telecommunications, and the university asked me to write a motivation letter. I need to know what can i include in this letter, and if its form differs from those written for jobs...
